A khaka in Urdu means a faint outline or sketch that may not be complete.

 

Food Memory Portraits translate spoken memories into quick sketches. Participants describe a meal, a kitchen, or a moment around food while the drawing takes shape alongside the story.

 

These sketches are not illustrations. They function more like visual field notes.

 

Together they form a quiet archive of domestic memory.
